This chapter overviews DNA‐based digital storage, which is a storage medium making use of DNA molecules to store digital data. The chapter describes methods for data encoding into DNA base sequences, data writing into DNA strands, and data storage of DNA within various types of particles. The chapter also describes methods for retrieval and decoding of the data from the DNA strands.
