Mimicking Liquid Crystals with Metamaterials

We propose and demonstrate Meta Liquid Crystals (MLCs), a novel form of tunable 3D metamaterials. MLCs mimic the response of liquid crystals but use meta-atoms instead of molecular mesogens, enabling richer variety of electromagnetic responses.
