Modular battery-integrated converters (dynamically reconfigurable modular batteries) are expanding into emerging applications. Although widely popular, we are yet to fully exploit their potential. This paper provides a critical discussion of the more neglected aspects with particular focus on electro mobility ap-plications. It also provides insight on the challenges and/or concerns.
