Oxanthromicin, an antibiotic isolated from an Actinomadura sp. SCC 1646 fermentation broth, has been assigned a novel dimeric peroxide structure based on chemical transformations and spectral data, and by a single-crystal X-ray analysis of a tetramethyl derivative. © Royal Society of Chemistry.
