No evidence for large charge-symmetry breaking effects in the [Formula Presented] nucleon-nucleon interactions
Rigorous calculations of proton-deuteron and neutron-deuteron analyzing power [Formula Presented] angular distributions in the incident nucleon energy range from 1 to 3 MeV are presented. It is shown that the sizable difference in the magnitude of [Formula Presented] for [Formula Presented]-[Formula Presented] and [Formula Presented]-[Formula Presented] scattering is caused by the Coulomb interaction in the case of [Formula Presented]-[Formula Presented] scattering and is not due to charge-symmetry-breaking effects in the [Formula Presented] nucleon-nucleon interactions. The calculated relative difference in the angular region of the [Formula Presented] maximum is in agreement with the existing experimental data. © 1997 The American Physical Society.
