Variability in planarity of the aortic bifurcation measured from magnetic resonance images

The geometry of the aortic bifurcation has drawn attention from several investigators. Notwithstanding the previous studies, the variability of the planarity of the aortic bifurcation has not been well described. This report discusses a study aimed to characterize more comprehensively, and quantitatively, the variability of this geometric parameter of the human aortic bifurcation. The study also proposed a robust definition of planarity.
