Telephone-based interventions with family caregivers: A feasibility study.

Although telephone care has been reported with various patient populations, telephone-based interventions usually are described as part of multimethod treatments-combined with support group activities or home visits,for example-such that the separate effects of the telephone-based intervention cannot be assessed. This article describes the design, implementation, and outcomes of a pilot study to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of telephone-based skill buildingfor reducing caregiving stress and improvingfamily caregiver coping and adaptation around home carefor a dementia patient.
