The sudden onset of pain, swelling and ecchymosis of the penis during sexual intercourse is the typical presentation of traumatic rupture of the corpus cavernosum, commonly termed fracture of the penis. We report a case of isolated traumatic rupture of the deep dorsal vein of the penis. The condition has essentially the same presentation as corpus cavernosal rupture, and should be considered in the evaluation and treatment of the acute penis.
