The author points out that for shear layers of slowly varying thickness it is sufficient to replace the constant boundary layer thickness which appears in Ventres' Kernal function (AIAA J.,13 Sep. 1975 pp.1183-1189) by the varying thickness. The Kernal function in question is that relating pressure on the lifting surface to its downwash (normal velocity on its surface).
