Subthreshold electric field stimulation of excitable tissue

This paper reviews the conditions under which a single-fiber membrane can be considered to be linear and at steady-state. These properties are useful in evaluating the response of tissue to stimulation, especially in predicting values of the transmembrane voltage both during a stimulus and thereafter.
