SURVEY OF OPERATIONAL RESEARCH GROUPS IN GREAT BRITAIN.

This paper surveys the turnover of staff in Operational Research groups. It suggests that surveys based on the membership of the Operational Research Society may be misleading as the majority of O. R. scientists do not belong to the Society. The paper gives data on the age range, length of service and qualifications of O. R. scientists in Industry, in Government and in Consulting.
