Metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) photodetectors with three contacts are proposed for subtracting slow hole currents for a shorter impulse response. The long tail, due to these slow holes, was eliminated using an MSM photodetector with three contacts. The measured FWHM of the device was 12.9ps, and the tail was effectively removed.
