Pelvic ring injuries are increasingly common in motor vehicle trauma. The minority of pelvic ring injuries require operative fixation. This paper outlines the basic techniques for posterior pelvic ring reduction and fixation including relevant biomechanics of posterior pelvic ring fixation. © Urban & Vogel.
