In order to study the effects of salt stress on photosystem II (PSII) heterogeneity, signal from the fluorometer was digitized via a microcomputer interface to record PSII fluorescence induction kinetics. Changes of parameters (Fm, Fp1 and F0) from the fast phase of fluorescence induction curve showed that the percentage of QB-nonreducing PSII reaction centers dropped at first, and then rose with the increase of stress intensity and time. This indicated that the electron transfer from QA to QB is one of the sites where the photochemical and photophysical processes of PSII are damaged by the salt stress.
