We describe a new class of optimization method based on the theory of classic minimum using a fuzzy weight function. The technique is applied to the problem of normal tissue prescription optimization in conformal radiotherapy. The performance of the new algorithm has been compared to that of traditional methods for artificial treatment geometry. It has been shown that the method is capable of finding a solution that achieves the optimal balance between two conflicting objectives.
