Overview
I am currently an undergraduate student (Class of 2029) studying biology. At the Heitman Lab, I will research the pathogenesis and environmental ecology of Cryptococcus gattii, an emerging fungal pathogen. I am particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms that allow C. gattii to cause disease in immunocompetent hosts and exploring its unique clinical presentations compared to other Cryptococcal species
