Overview
Raised between China and the United States, Cecilia Wang is an artist and filmmaker with a multidisciplinary practice. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she worked across moving image and other fine art mediums, and later earned her BA in Film from Columbia College Chicago. Her experience of moving between different cultural environments has shaped her interest in the relationship between individuals and the spaces they inhabit. Drawing from memory, personal experience, and everyday surroundings, her work explores how environments shape perception and emotion, and how places carry traces of time and change.
