Overview


Julia Chan is Clinical Nurse II at Duke University Hospital and an MS candidate in Population Health Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine. She earned her BSN from Penn State with minors in Child Maltreatment & Advocacy Studies and Human Development & Family Studies in 2024.

Her professional journey has taken her across diverse clinical settings, including cardiothoracic surgery, solid organ transplant, and early-phase research, while also engaging in work that advances diversity, equity, and inclusion in nursing education. She currently serves as the board-appointed state consultant for the North Carolina Association of Nursing Students.

Passionate about nursing leadership and professional development, she has been invited to speak on dismantling racism in nursing, supporting new graduate nurses, and advancing equity in healthcare. Her research interests center on population health and health equity for both patients and nurses.
