Research Interests
Dr. Vestal is interested in the intersection of cutting edge technology and neurosurgery and is currently conducting research in the use of augmented reality and holograms in the operating room. Clinically his research interests lie in the fields of Epilepsy Neurosurgery and the fledgling field of gene therapy in neurosurgery.

With colleagues from pediatric epilepsy neurology, Dr. Vestal secured a DIHI grant and designed an augmented reality program allowing for the use of holograms in the operating room using the Microsoft Hololens platform.
