Dr. Xiaoyan Hu

Dr. Xiaoyan Hu is a dedicated educator and administrator with over two decades of experience in higher education. Currently, she serves as the Academic Coordinator for both the online and on-campus Master of Engineering program at Duke University. In this role, Dr. Hu has honed her skills in managing various aspects of program administration, faculty support, and student services. Additionally, she holds the position of Adjunct Associate Professor at the Pratt School of Engineering.
Prior to her roles at Duke University, Dr. Hu held several academic positions, including Teaching Professor and Academic Director of the Chinese Flagship Program at the University of Rhode Island. Her extensive experience also includes roles at Zhejiang University in China. Dr. Hu’s contributions to education have been widely recognized. She was honored as the Teacher of the Year in 2017 by the Rhode Island Foreign Language Association. Furthermore, she has actively participated in various educational organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for the Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (2019-2023), the Rhode Island Foreign Language Association (2022-2024), and the New England Chinese Language Teachers Association (2020-2024).
