Overview
Hi! Welcome to my profile!
I am a PhD student in Cultural Anthropology at Duke. My research focuses on the China-Africa encounter, with previous fieldwork exploring Chinese corporate culture and business practices in Ghana.
My master’s dissertation examined how Chinese private entrepreneurs construct their identity as “Boss” and how this identity is shaped by social, gender, racial, and intergenerational dynamics.
My current research interests include the digital economy, ICT development, financial technology, cryptocurrency, and digital mining in Sub-Saharan Africa—particularly how Chinese people, companies, capital, and culture shape these sectors.
Before joining Duke, I gained experience working in the international organization, tech company, and venture capital fund in Switzerland, China, and Ghana. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Wuhan University and a master’s degree from the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID).
I’m always happy to connect—whether you share similar research interests or simply want to start a conversation. Feel free to reach out via email!
