Overview


Agnes Chinwe Faith Owete, MD is an ophthalmology resident at the Duke University Eye Center in Durham, NC. She graduated with her MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where she conducted research and clinical rotations in Rwanda and Botswana and earned a Global Health Certificate. She grew up living in multiple Sub-Saharan African countries and looks forward to returning to the region full-time as an academic ophthalmologist, practicing and training future ophthalmologists to lessen the burden of visual impairment and blindness on the African continent. She is passionate about health disparities and implementation sciences research to help improve eye care in low resource settings both local and international.
