Overview


Christopher J. Nash, MD, EdM is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and serves as the Director of Simulation for the Duke Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Nash earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he was recognized with the Resident Teacher of the Year Award in his final year. He went on to complete a master's degree in education and a fellowship in medical education at MGH before relocating to Durham to join the faculty at Duke.

Dr. Nash’s academic interests include program evaluation, digital scholarship, and simulation-enhanced education. He is also engaged in developing training programs for clinicians in the practice of telehealth, with a particular emphasis on equity and access—work supported by grant funding from the Association of American Medical Colleges.

Outside of Duke, Dr. Nash plays an active leadership role in the Academic Life in Emergency Medicine (ALiEM) team, serving as Associate Director of Growth for the main site and as Chief Technology Officer for ALiEM University (ALiEMU). He is thrilled to be part of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Duke and looks forward to a long and impactful career in Durham.
