Overview
Dr. Li is a Senior Lecturer of Chinese Language and Japanese Language at Duke Kunshan University. He received his Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Literature specializing in Chinese Language Pedagogy (2018) from the Ohio State University. In 2018-19, he held an Andrew W. Mellon postdoctoral fellowship and served as a visiting assistant professor of Chinese at Kenyon College. The fellowship funds the collaboration among faculties at the Five Colleges of Ohio to establish a pilot program in distance language instruction in Chinese. Dr. Li specializes in language pedagogy, second language acquisition, and gamification approaches applied in language teaching, curriculum design, and material development. He has directed intensive study-abroad Chinese programs including the Critical Language Scholarship program. Currently, he is coordinating first-year Chinese courses and has initiated a Japanese program at Duke Kunshan University.
