Overview
Cyprene Caines is a second-year PhD Student in English. She is also pursuing certificates in African and African American Studies as well as Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies. She studies early 20th-21st century Black Feminist Literature and Visual Art. In particular, Cyprene is interested in themes of sex and sexuality across these creative works. Prior to beginning her PhD, Cyprene was a Fulbright Research Scholar in Trinidad and Tobago. She received her B.A. in Africana Studies and English from Brown University in 2023.
