Elena Perea
Assistant Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences

Elena Perea, MD completed her undergraduate education at Wake Forest University, receiving her bachelor's degree in Anthropology.  She earned her MD at UNC-CH and remained there for general psychiatry residency, as well as a faculty appointment prior to accepting a position at Duke as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.  Her primary interests are medical education, consult-liaison psychiatry in the medical hospital and the emergency room, and delirium.

Dr. Perea was selected by trainees in the Duke Psychiatry Residency Training program as the 2015-2016 Honored Professor for her excellence in graduate medical education.
