Liz Crisenbery

I am a musicologist who studies early twentieth-century Italian opera, exploring the intersection of gender, politics, and music. My dissertation examines masculinities in operas by fascist composers during the height of Italian fascism. Other research interests include digital humanities, opera and media, and riot grrrl.

I hold a B.M. in Music Performance (cum laude ) from Bowling Green State University, M.F.A. in Musicology from Brandeis University, and M.A. in Musicology from Duke University.
