Adelheid (Heidi) Madden: In my primary appointment I serve as the Librarian for Western European and Medieval Renaissance Studies at Duke University Libraries. I develop collections of materials from and about Europe and provide research services on European topics. I am active in the European Studies Section (ESS) of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) , formerly WESS, where I have convened the Classical, Medieval Renaissance Discussion Group, the Romance Languages Discussion Group, and the Germanist Discussion Group with programs on information literacy, research methods, digital humanities, and European fiction in translation. I served as Vice Chair and Chair of WESS during 2011-2013. I represent Duke University Libraries in the German-North American Resources Partnership (GNARP) and the Collaborative Initiative for French Language Collections (CIFNAL) within the Center for Research Libraries, and am currently the chair of the GNARP collection Development Working Group. I am also a member of the ALA International Relations Committee (IRC) working on international exchanges between US and German libraries.
