John Theodore Petrowski III
Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology

Dr. Petrowski is a general optometrist who joined the Duke Eye Center faculty in 2008 after 14 years on faculty at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center section of Ophthalmology.  His practice consists of performing routine eye exams and providing refractive care including prescribing glasses and contact lenses. Dr. Petrowski has a lot of experience and interest in fitting specialty contact lenses such as rigid cornea, scleral and hybrid lenses designed for the disease keratoconus and other serious conditions of the eye surface.   Dr. Petrowski is also experienced in following patients with diabetes, diagnosing other eye disorders, and counseling patients on the most applicable specialty care that is appropriate for their condition. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
