John Gill received his BA from UNC Chapel Hill in German and Philosophy. Before studying he was awarded the Congress-Bundestag Scholarship and lived in Düsseldorf, Germany from 2004-2005. After graduation, he worked three years as a digital archivist at UNC. He is now in his second year in the Carolina-Duke German program. His interests are broadly in literature and political philosophy, with an emphasis on Karl Marx, Walter Benjamin, and revolutionary traditions of thought. John enjoys bicycle touring and living in Carrboro, North Carolina.
