Kibby McMahon completed the Clinical Psychology doctoral program at Duke University working with Dr. Zach Rosenthal and is currently a postdoctoral associate at Duke University Medical Center in the Center for Misophonia and Emotion Regulation. She completed her predoctoral clinical internship at Weill Cornell/NY Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Her work focuses on the science and practice of treating interpersonal issues within transdiagnostic clinical populations. Her graduate research investigated how emotion regulation skills (e.g. mindfulness) influences empathy , our ability the perceive and understand other people's emotions. She is also learning how to treat anxiety, depression and personality disorders with contemporary cognitive behavioral therapies. As a former Vinyasa yoga instructor, she draws upon this background in mindfulness practice to inform her research and clinical work.
