Current Research Interests

My research interests are situated in the Anglophone Caribbean, with a particular emphasis on the intersection of race, gender, and labor under slavery and freedom. My dissertation, supervised by Professor Barry Gaspar, examines the legal, political, and social implications of emancipation on enslaved and free people in Barbados during the early and mid-nineteenth century.
