Current Research Interests

Kristina Williams is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of History. Her research examines the relationship between race, gender, and resistance within nineteenth-century Caribbean slave societies. Kristina is currently working on her dissertation tentatively titled "Anticipating Freedom: Slave Rebellion, Amelioration, and Emancipation in Barbados, 1816-1838" under the supervision of Professor Barry Gaspar.
