Leon Li

I am broadly interested in language and morality. As an undergrad, I investigated polysemy with Dr. L. Robert Slevc (Li & Slevc, 2017) as well as morally-relevant theory of mind with Dr. Melanie Killen (Li, Rizzo, Burkholder, & Killen, 2017). Later, I investigated meditation in fMRI at the Center for Advanced Study of Language (CASL) and then was lab manager for Dr. Susan Courtney (Johns Hopkins). I am thrilled to now be a PhD student studying moral development with Dr. Michael Tomasello.

Some of my favorite and most formative books are:
  • The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm
  • Letters to a Young Poet by Rilke
  • Toward a Psychology of Being by Maslow
  • The Zhuangzi
