Overview

My research interest is to uncover molecular mechanisms of fungal pathogenesis, drug resistance and host-fungal pathogen interaction. I earned my Ph.D of Microbiology at University of Georgia, where I focused on Candida albicans biofilm formation and its genetic determinants, and iron regulation in Mitchell lab. As a postdoctoral associate in Heitman Lab, I will be exploring several important evolutionary drivers of speciation in Cryptococcus amylolentus species.
