Mark Jeong
Student

Mark Jeong is a ThD student at Duke Divinity School focusing on the New Testament.

His dissertation, titled Banished from the City: The Exilic Ecclesiology of Luke-Acts , argues that Luke's ecclesiology is “exilic”—as the gospel is preached in Acts, conflict erupts, and Paul and his companions are forced out of the various cities and regions where they travel, making them politically and socially “homeless.” This study relates to his research interests, which include politics in the NT, ecclesiology, and the theology of Luke-Acts.

Prior to coming to Duke, he earned an STM from Yale Divinity School, an MDiv from Westminster Theological Seminary, and a BA from Cornell University.
