Mason Barto

Mason is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Department of Classical Studies. His research interests include Homeric epic, choral lyric, Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis, and Roman architecture. He is more broadly concerned with the way narrative poetry works to illustrate and obscure the fundamentally human parts of societies, identities, and selves. Mason received a BA in Classics from Brooklyn College in 2018.
