Overview
Mitch is the Vice President of National Geographic's EduLab, leading an innovation team devoted to creating new products and solutions that inspire audiences to illuminate and protect the wonders of our world. He previously served as the Managing Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship here at Duke, and as the VP of Innovation and Learning at the Museum of Life and Science. He has led innovation across sectors, with organizations including Fjord, Accenture, Deloitte, Creative England, NESTA, and government agencies from the city-level to the UN. Mitch has helped establish over a dozen innovation and venture labs, pushed policies with the EU, designed new services in health and education, and reimagined the future of sectors from banking to beer. Mitch holds an MPA in innovation and entrepreneurship policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, an MSc in Technology and Human Affairs from Washington University in St. Louis, and a BS from the College of William & Mary. He’s a Fellow of the German Marshall Fund, of the RSA, and of U. Penn’s Center for Social Impact Strategy. Mitch is also an amateur winemaker, a fan of things cooked slowly, and a husband and father often in quest of sleep.
