Mr. Nash has twenty-four years of experience helping universities, public agencies, nonprofits, and businesses create, implement, and assess initiatives in social entrepreneurship, innovation, earned income, strategy, business planning, scaling social impact, organization development, change management, business process transformation, governance and board development, program evaluation, and social impact measurement. An accomplished instructor and facilitator, Mr. Nash has designed and led university courses, training workshops, planning sessions,and decision-making retreats in the United States and in developing countries around the world. A frequent speaker at social entrepreneurship events and conferences in the U.S. and abroad, he has managed the organization and execution of several national and global conferences, including the 2011 Ashoka U Exchange, the first global conference on social entrepreneurship education. At Duke, Mr. Nash has created and led a wide array of curricular, co-curricular, research, and field-building programs in the areas of social entrepreneurship, social innovation, and nonprofit leadership and governance and has gained a reputation as a results-oriented collaborator who has built bridges across schools, departments, and disciplines. A recipient of Vice President Al Gore’s “Hammer Award” from the National Partnership for Reinventing Government for his leadership role in improving and standardizing USAID program policies on performance measurement and reporting, Mr. Nash has consulted in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Africa, and Central America, and has successfully led multicultural teams. In recognition for a career marked by service across the sectors, Mr. Nash was the inaugural recipient of the “Distinguished Member Award” from Net Impact, the global network of students and professionals dedicated to using business skills to take on social challenges, protect the environment, and orient businesses and products toward the greater good.
