Graduate Teaching

Cell and Molecular Biology 720 (Duke University, 2022-current). I co-organized a three lecture series on biological mass spectrometry for Prof. Michel Bagnat’s advanced methods course for CMB graduate students.

Cell and Molecular Biology 551 (Duke University, 2016-2018). I lectured in Prof. Matthew Hirschey’s module on protein post-translational modifications in the core course for first year graduate students in the CMB Program.

University of Wisconsin Biochemistry Program

Biochemistry 720 (University of Wisconsin, 2013-2014). I helped Prof. Alan Attie develop an advanced undergraduate/graduate course on metabolism, which we implemented in 2014. 

Biochemistry 660 (University of Wisconsin, 2013).  I prepared a module on proteomics for Prof. Marvin Wickens’ biochemical methods course for first-year graduate students in the Department of Biochemistry.

Undergraduate Teaching

Biology 1009 (University of Minnesota 2005-2006).  I taught the laboratory component of an introductory undergraduate biology course for two semesters, for which I was recognized by the College of Biological Sciences with an award for Outstanding Performance as a Teaching Assistant in 2006.

Science Outreach

Outreach Coordinator (University of Wisconsin, 2009-2010).  As part of Prof. Joshua Coon’s NSF-funded outreach program, I worked with high school students during an annual weeklong science technology course held at Thermo Fisher Scientific Training Institute in Madison, WI. 

Research Ethics Fellow (University of Wisconsin, 2012-2013). As part of the Integrating Research Ethics and Scholarship (IRES) Fellows Program, I met with trainees from different departments to discuss Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) and organize panel sessions on campus.

Guest Speaker (Duke University, 2021).  I gave a presentation via Zoom to members of the Health Occupations Students of America Club at Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, WA.  This included an overview of my training experiences, a description of my work, and a Q&A session about my career.
