Rachael Lau is a PhD candidate at Duke University in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus on disaster mitigation and co-founder of the NAE’s Call to Action on the COVID-19 Crisis. Rachael also assists in EWB-USA’s COVID-19 Tactical Response Team and co-founded and co-manages a research cohort on earthquake risk and resiliency between Duke and the Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus in Kathmandu, Nepal. Rachael’s research interests include probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, earthquake-induced liquefaction, and landslide early warning systems.
