Raphaël Morsomme
Student
I am a Bayesian statistician, currently a Ph.D. candidate in statistics under the supervision of Dr. Jason Xu. I develop efficient Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms for problems characterized by high-dimensional missing data with applications in epidemiology and medicine.
Current Research Interests
My academic interests revolve around the development of efficient sampling algorithms for problems characterized by high-dimensional missing data. I have focused on stochastic epidemic models and breast cancer models for which I have developed Metropolis-Hastings samplers that efficiently explore the high-dimensional latent space. Before my Ph.D., I developed a content-based course recommender system for students of a Liberal Arts college and employed conformal prediction for course grade prediction.
