Teaching Summary

I provide both clinical teaching and dedicated mentorship for medical school student, residents and fellows. From a clinical perspective, I review and discuss any interesting cases; instruct performance of standard gynecologic procedures and outpatient evaluations; and review anatomy and provide instruction in the operating room. I provide teaching weekly during our Tumor Board including our Research Pearl of the Week and oversight of our monthly Gynecologic Oncology Clinical Trial Update agenda. This past years I provided a Grand Rounds lecture on Women's Health Research and a lecture on endometrial cancer for the Medical Oncology Fellows.

Advising & Mentoring Summary

I provide advising and mentoring on a national level through NRG Oncology Committee, GOG-Foundation Education & Mentoring Committee, and AAOGF support of the AAOGF/GOG-F/FWC Career Development Award. At Duke I am involved in the formal mentorship program for third year medical school students. I am mentoring Dr. Aya Bashi, Ob/Gyn resident on an endometrial cancer research project. I served as Dr. Angela Nolin's research mentor on her research project after Dr. Previs left Duke and I current serve as Dr. Morgan Brown's research mentor. Nationally I have been personally mentoring Dr. Aine Clements (Ohio Health), Dr. Maggie Mullen (WashU), Dr. Lindsay Kuroki (WashU), and Dr. Catie Watson (prior Duke Fellow) on their research projects. Collectively I have mentored two medical students, 22 Ob/Gyn residents, 10 fellows, and eight early career faculty. I serve as a mentor on the Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) program and the DOD Ovarian Cancer - Clinical Trial Academy Leadership Award.
