Teaching Summary

My teaching philosophy centers on bringing active, front-line security practitioner insights directly into the classroom to deliver practical, applications-oriented engineering education.

  • Duke University Executive Cybersecurity Programs: Serve as Guest Faculty and Speaker, designing and delivering advanced executive curricula including AI & Cybersecurity for Leaders ("Protecting AI Systems and Data") and Cloud Security for Leaders ("Intro to Cloud Security" & "Assessing Cloud Infrastructure") across campus in Durham, NC and internationally in Panama City, Panama.
  • Duke Graduate Cybersecurity Curriculum: Guest lecturer for graduate-level courses, including CYBERSEC 590 (Advanced Topics in Cybersecurity: Governance, Risk, and Compliance).
  • Colorado Technical University (CTU): Served as Adjunct Professor designing and instructing virtual graduate courses in Computer Systems Security Foundations (CS-651) for Master's engineering cohorts.
  • Enterprise & Community Masterclasses: Delivered over 100 internal enterprise security and privacy awareness masterclasses at Red Hat, alongside 36+ global community education sessions on Cloud Security, Zero Trust, and AI Safety.

Advising & Mentoring Summary

I am deeply committed to guiding the next generation of cybersecurity leaders across both higher education and enterprise settings.

  • Duke Mentoring for Cybersecurity Achievement Program (MCAP): Actively mentor Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity graduate student cohorts (2024-25 & 2025-26), providing technical guidance
  • Academic & Industry Advisory Boards: Serve as Vice Chair of the Industry Advisory Board (IAB) for Duke’s Executive Cybersecurity Certificate Programs, Core Network Committee Member for NCTECH, and Advisory Board Member for UNCW’s Center for Cyber Defense Education (CCDE), Wake Technical Community College, and ECPI University.
  • Enterprise Talent Pipeline Development: Formally coach, mentor, and advance technical security specialists across industry landscapes, guiding individual contributors from Principal to Senior Principal and Director levels.
