Overview
I specialize in the provision of couples therapy for veterans, with emphasis on relationship problems associated with combat and deployment. I mainly provide, and teach, Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT); however, elements of other major couples-therapy protocols are utilized as needed. As a member of the Durham VAMC Psychology Training Program, I regularly supervise psychology interns assigned to the Outpatient Mental Health Rotation and more recently created a Couples Therapy Sub-Rotation for those interns desiring training in IBCT. On a broader level, I serve as a national IBCT training consultant for the VA Office of Mental Health Services.
