Overview


Composer/performer Tyler Jordan (b. 1997) draws from harsh noise, hardcore punk, and composers of the 20th and 21st century to create theatrical and conceptual works that combine newly constructed instruments, experimental notation, queer affect, and animalistic emotion.

They received a MM in Composition at the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University and a BM in Composition and BM in Performance at Chapman University. As a researcher, Tyler explores queer noise music in the United States through field work at shows and festivals and performances through their alias Dumb Dog.
