Undraa Lhamsuren

Even though she is originally from Mongolia, Undraa has lived in Bonn since she was 14. She received her master’s degree from the University of Bonn in 2011. In her master’s thesis she examined the aspects of loss and death in J. D. Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye and compared it to the German classic of adolescence literature Die Neuen Leiden des jungen W. by Ulrich Plenzdorf. From 2012-2016 Undraa taught elementary to advanced German to adult immigrants, some of whom were refugees. Undraa’s academic interests include 20th century German postwar literature and culture, contemporary literature, children’s and young adult literature.
