Literature

Overview

Vladimir Lukin studies the cultural history and theory of computation, artificial intelligence, and digital media, with a particular focus on Soviet and post-Soviet contexts. His research brings the underexplored archives of Soviet cybernetics, computer science, and AI into dialogue with media archaeology, posthumanism, and the philosophy of technology. Working across science fiction, cinema, and scientific and technical writing, he examines how these materials challenge Western-centered histories of media and technology. His current project rethinks the concept of the posthuman beyond its established Western genealogies.
