Overview
I have a strong desire to promote and maintain my patient’s functional independence. Function is how I base my therapeutic, interventional, and pharmacologic outcomes. I am a team player. All members of the health care team, especially patients, should be included when making treatment decisions. I consider myself a teacher. I educate patients about appropriate therapeutic, interventional, and pharmacologic pain treatments, empowering them with the knowledge necessary to determine the next best steps in their care. I have a passion for interdisciplinary pain and spine care and work closely with Duke Health spine surgeons, physical therapists, and neuropsychologists. I promote lasting and trusting relationships with my patients. I find joy in meeting people with diverse life experiences and backgrounds and listening to their life stories. I strive to promote patient-centered knowledge, functional outcomes, and pain improvement through whole-person, practical, personalized, and collaborative health care.
