Uveal Melanoma: Imaging

Imaging plays an essential role in the diagnosis and management of intraocular uveal melanoma. Successful application of imaging will frequently involve multiple modalities, including color photography, ocular ultrasound, fluorescein angiography, and optical coherence tomography, among others. Each imaging modality offers unique information that can help the provider to make a diagnosis and monitor a tumor for change over time. This chapter reviews the most important modalities used to image intraocular uveal melanomas, as well as relevant findings and their impact on clinical and surgical practice.
