Adolescence is a unique time of growth and development. The migration experience presents additional contextual demands that may reshape developmental processes and milestones. Interventions for adolescents need to take into consideration their developmental needs, specific vulnerabilities, and exposure to potentially traumatic events beginning with displacement through eventual resettlement in a new country. A spectrum of care addressing developmental, medical, and mental health/psychosocial needs in a setting where the adolescent is listened to and heard will provide a foundation for healing among displaced adolescents and support the transition to adulthood.
